Group Suggestions

MealLogger Groups conveniently connects friends, family, and peers through their journals to share ideas, support, and most importantly fun. There are many ways to benefit from groups. See some suggested groups below.

Suggestions:

  • Connect with Your Friends and Family

    • Keep in touch with the people that matter most to you while never eating a meal alone again. Share suggestions, spread inspiration, show off that steak dinner, or be the envy of everyone by chowing down on some Twinkies -- eating with others is just more fun!
    • Trying to eat healthier? Having trouble sticking with it? Sharing your journal with trusted friends and family can help you get over that hump with extra motivation, support, and comraderie. Additional benefits include:
  • Connect with a Community Following a Specific Diet

    • Vegetarian? Paleo? Vegan? Low-carb? Connect with people who have adopted the same or a similar diet to share meal ideas, inspiration, and helpful information.
      • Interested in a certain diet but not yet ready to dive in head first? No problem! Just follow a group centered around that diet to see for yourself what these dieters are eating to see if it's right for you -- and if you decide you want to try it out yourself, lean on the community for suggestions and ideas to help stick with it!
      • Note to Group Creators: Be sure to consider making your group PUBLIC so that users who are curious can follow along and educate themselves on what it is all about!
  • Benefits for Moms and Moms-To-Be

    • Postpartum
      • Keep in touch with your friends and family, even with you busy schedule
      • Connect with a community of moms who are on similar schedules and working through similar situations:
        • Stay in touch with your local (or non-local) mom community every day
        • Record everthing your child eats to have a detailed account and pass around useful information
        • If breastfeeding, connect with other breastfeeding mothers and share/get helpful tips and suggestion
    • Prenatal
      • Keep track of your diet to monitor how you and baby react to certain foods
      • Your detailed journal can help you and your professional analyze your diet and it's effect on your pregnancy
  • Leading Up to an Event

    • MealLogger group journaling delivers all the benefits of food journaling plus the support and enjoyment of working towards (and achieving!) a common goal with your friends and family. Some example events are:
      • Pre-wedding diets for brides and bridesmaids -- and grooms too!
      • Training for a race, e.g. 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon
      • Beach-body diets for summer/vacation
    • Play a sport? Need to get in top shape for the upcoming season? Whether you are trying to lose weight or put on some extra muscles, connecting to your teammates will increase your accountability and help motivate you to stay on course -- and drive you to push each other at the table as well as on the field!
  • Managing a Condition

    • Many people have conditions that are directly affected by what they eat -- e.g. lactose intolerance, celiac disease, migraines, diabetes, addiction/recovery. Connecting to a constructive and supportive community can help you stay the course and also learn through others' knowledge and experiences.
      • Connect with peers who share the same or similar conditions to share helpful information and educate one another from personal experiences
      • Connect with loved ones who can help reseach your condition and assist you in learning how to manage it and keep you on the right path
